Malta

Confession - I had never even heard of Malta before planning this trip. Clearly I missed that geography lesson. Just south of Sicily and north of Africa, it is the most beautiful port city. Because of its crucial strategic location in the Mediterranean Sea, it has a rich history - the Knights of St. John, Napoleon, a British colony . . .

The view as we pulled into Valletta was just breathtaking. All the buildings are limestone, so there is just this glow about it in the sun.





The Cathedral was one of the most ornate I've seen.
