Pathetic SYTYCD Stalkers

My life has been insanely busy. I am always doing something, and I always feel like I should be doing something else - usually two or three other things. My To Do list is forever growing. But I'm finally feeling like I'm getting settled and organized . . . just in time for school to officially start on Tuesday.

But I have one fun thing to share. Shannan and I heard about this dance thing in Orem last Saturday. We heard SYTYCD and immediately decided we were going. Well it turns out it was an event called Dancing Under the Stars, featuring Utah's own nationally prominent professional dancers. The highlights were Chelsie and Gev performing some SYTYCD routines. (Am I the only one who didn't know Gev was from Utah?), some fabulous Mandy Moore choreography from a Utah dance company and two amazing little nine year-old hip-hop dancers (apparently they are playing little Zac and Cody in HSM3).

We had fun and it was a beautiful night to be outside, but the highlight of the night was before the performance started. Naturally, Shannan and I were making fun of all the blond, teased hair, horribly dressed girls. We were laughing about how they must be Chelsie's friends, wannabes and family. And then before we knew it we realized that Chelsie's mother was sitting right behind us. She had just returned from backstage where she was giving Chelsie her eyelashes. She kept talking about how Chelsie is always leaving things and creating a disaster zone backstage. She was hoping the show would help, but apparently the other contestants just had to clean up after her. She concluded it was a last child syndrome. We died laughing. And of course took a strategically placed photo.

So there you have it, a hysterical Utah dance performance and a SYTYCD quasi-celebrity sighting. All in Orem, Utah.

Who says that you can't see celebrities outside of NY and LA?! Fingers crossed you will get to run into one of the Osmonds....then you know you've arrived! :)

Um, I'm pretty sure you should have called me for this event. It sounds like a blast though!
