Tuesday Night Dessert

The best (or sad) part about this post is that it is completely true - and not altogether unusual for my family.

We are a sweets family. I think I had ice cream for dessert almost every single night growning up. I remember hating going over to certain friends' houses because their parents didn't give them dessert. I'm sure my Mom fed me chocolate chip cookie dough and brownie batter before "real" food as a child. I secretly want to open a bakery called Brooks Bakes. You get the point.

Well on Tuesday this is what we had for dessert.

That's right. There is a Peach Pie, a Key Lime Pie and an Ice Cream Roll-Up Cake. The Ice Cream Cake is leftover from Sunday dinner - it's the family birthday cake cake - but the rest were made just for this random Tuesday night. There were eight of us at dinner.

Sam, Caisa and Shannan couldn't believe their eyes.

And Sam got so excited she leaned right into the Ice Cream Cake. It was pretty classic.

Karen and Heather, sorry you couldn't partake of this amazing Peach Pie.

Oh and don't worry, later that night the sisters all gathered in the kitchen where we made Rice Krispy Treats and ate more Ice Cream Roll-Up Cake. And then went to the theatre until 3 am.

I don't wonder why I struggle with my weight.

I was one of those friends houses growing up that you didnt' like coming too because of the lack of sweets. Sorry about that. But that was why we loved coming to your house...well one of the reasons...I can taste your mom's chocolate pancakes...oh how I miss those!!!
