The Beginning of Fall

School started. Football started. The weather even feels like fall. I guess it's time to admit summer is over. I even packed up my whites and seersucker this weekend (well technically I moved them to the other side of my closet . . . love that closet).

I guess it's also time to admit the end of my "2010 Summer To Do List: Sabbaticaling, Nesting and Working." I am happy to report I've finished the summer with my best record yet - 80%. This summer flew by. Seriously, fastest summer ever - maybe it has something to do with the fact that this was the first summer in a few years I wasn't lounging by the pool on an almost daily basis. While I do miss the pool and QT, so many exciting things happened. It was a great summer.

So how'd I do?

1. Enjoy time with Caisa and Shannan: +1. So many good times - living at the 310, visits to 5C, pool days, breaking dishes, Dough Girl, concerts . . . it was a great sisters summer.
2. Learn how to braid my own hair: 0. I didn't even really try. I know. I know. One of these days I just need to devote a few hours to it. Someday.
3. Provo pool days laughing at the ridiculousness that is pool flirting and watching: +1. Oh so fun.
4. Write thank you notes: 0. This is embarrassing.
5. Cabo family vaca: +1. Best. Family. Vaca. Yet.
6. Seattle trip: +1. Food, ferries, shopping and then more shopping
7. Cross the border to Vancouver B.C.: +1. Brunch, water, scooters and bubble tea oh my!
8. Move into an apartment that is all mine!: +1. Best. Decision. Ever.
9. Furnish and Decorate: +1. So much fun.
10. Complete a Do-it-Yourself project: I'm giving myself +1 for this. Did I do a "traditional" DIY project? No. But I did move into my apartment, hang shelves, change light fixtures, create a photo wall, etc? Yes. I'm counting it!
11. Host my first dinner party at my apartment: 0. This is so sad. I need to do this promto!
12. Go to a Bees game: +1. Yes, yes I did. I still love going to baseball games and chatting, but really Minor League? There was more chatting than watching.
13. Find a great Farmer’s Market – get some fruit and bake: +1. Yes! I love the Downtown SLC Farmer's Market. I made a fantastic Red Currant Meringue Pie - and I have more currants in the freezer for later!
14. Plant something: 0. I have every intention of planting those herbs in my kitchen. Now if soil would just show up on my doorstep?
15. Get a Costco membership: +1 and I love it.
16. Discover my new neighborhood: +1. I love walking to church. I love the thai restaurant right across the street.
17. Start work: +1 and I love it. Sometimes I think, "This is awesome. And they are paying me for this! Yes!"
18. Walk to work when the weather is nice: +1. I don't do it as often as I should, but it is a nice walk. If only I could walk there, but then have my car parked so I can hurry and leave the office to go do things at night.
19. Continue to run: +1. I'm doing a Bootcamp that I love. Kicks my butt everyday. And I've made great friends.
20. Georgia trip for either HH or the lake: +1. It was a super short trip, but I made it to Hilton Head for about 48 hours! Next year the lake will have to happen.
21. Celebrate Rachel becoming Mrs. Harmer: +1. A wonderful weekend.
22. Watch Sammy move into the dorms!: +1. Sure did! Can't wait to start having fun with 3 sisters out here!
23. Read – fun books, work books, classic books, just books: +1. I started off strong, but have almost completely stopped. It's sad. But I did join the library! My intentions are good!
24. Start a book club: 0. I joined a book club, but haven't started one.
25. Keep my tan - even with the whole office, work thing: I'm giving myself +1. I look pretty white next to Caisa, Shannan and Samantha, but I'm pretty darn proud of my desk job tan. And now it will fad away all winter. :(

Last year I kept the list alive with the year of 101 Things You Never Thought Kristan Would Do. Moab. Flag football. Walmart. Hiking the Y. It was a good year. I'm not quite sure what this year will become - possibly the year of working hard and spending an insane amount of time on airplanes. . .
