The Gobble Jog

In general, my family runs so we can eat more, not because we actually like running. Except for Shannan . . . for some reason she actually enjoys running. So when she found out about a 10K on Thanksgiving morning we all laughed in her face. Then she told us there was a 5K too and for some reason that convinced us to sign up. Kelli did a little scheming and somehow got out of it - trust me we made her pay for her lying ways. But Mom and Shannan ran the 10K and Caisa, Samantha and I ran the 5K.

The whole morning was just comical. We laughed the whole 3.1 miles. We mainly laughed at Sam. When we got out of the car I noticed that Sam was wearing tights. She swore they were leggings, but they most definitely were not. (Note her see through thighs in the finish line picture.) Oh and her headband is not a fashion statement - she wore it like that to cover a zit. Oh to be 17 again.

"We need to make sure we take before and after pictures, so we can see if we look skinnier after the race." - Shannan

Before:

After:

"Take a picture of my amazing stretching moves." - Samantha

After walking the whole 5K, Sam made sure she sprinted across the finish line.

And like all great runners, what did we do on the way home from the race? Stop at QT for Diet Coke.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm pretty sure olympians drink Diet Coke after they race too. Ha ha! So much for Gatorade. Way to go girls! A Thanksgiving race sounds like so much fun. And those before and after pictures--what an amazing transformation! You really do look fabulous P.S. :) Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving!
