Just a few reasons I really "hate" long weekends in NYC:
1. Hidden, secretive restaurants. Enter through the door marked "No Admittance," go down the stairs, around the corner, through the kitchen and around another corner to La Esquina. Delicious.
2. Movies. Five escalators, one Diet Coke concession stand stop and one really big screen later . . . now anything else seems unacceptable.
3. Brunch. Enough said.
4. Retail Therapy. I stopped counting after one pair of shoes, one necklace, one skirt, three shirts and one sweater.
5. Naps. I hadn’t taken one in months.
6. The air matress. Yes, most people don't look forward to the air matress, but setting up the air matress in our living room means watching movies all night - and you don't have to set an alarm in the morning.
I wasn't in Utah skiing with my family sadly, but I suppose I did make the most of my day off. Lovely, just lovely.
