Side note: I knew there was some “Live Free Die Hard” or something like that movie coming out, but I had no idea – or really cared for that matter – what it was. It didn’t seem like it had gotten a lot of press, and I hadn’t heard much about it. I thought it was R and thought nothing of it. I actually walked past the premier a while ago and didn’t realize it until I read it in the paper the next day.
So I was a little surprised that Karen was “so excited” to see this movie. I mentioned it to the girls while we were at dinner in Georgetown, and I must have said something like, “Oh is it a series or something?” I think the reactions were something like this:
“What! You don’t know what Die Hard is?”
“I’m Canadian, and I know what Die Hard is?”
“You’ve seen Dad watch them on TV all the time.”
“Really? You didn’t know?”
We had a good laugh, and I felt a bit silly. Who knew Bruce Willis was in all these movies? Apparently, everyone :) After I heard "Die Hard", I knew that was a movie, so I guess my excuse was I didn’t really know the title of the movie. Regardless, it was a pretty funny conversation.
But, the story continues . . . So on Sunday after a long bus ride back to the city, I dragged myself up my stairs and found this:
Apparently Karen got a movie poster when she saw the movie, and she thought it would be funny to tape it to the ceiling over my bed as a surprise. Mind you, our dinner conversation about my lack of Die Hard knowledge was all unknown to her.
So now, I fall asleep to and wake up to Bruce Willis as John McClane. Well, at least until I climb up there and take it down :)
Hilarious!

That's pretty great! But seriously, for someone who has so much entertainment knowledge to not know about the Die Hard series... Well we'll just chalk it up to the fact that you have sisters and I have brothers.
What? You're going to take him down?!! Unacceptable. And after I went to all that effort to get him there...
