DC - the city not the beverage

I love taking trips to DC. It’s quick, easy and relatively inexpensive to go down for a weekend. This time I took Friday off (yeah Summer Fridays!) so I could celebrate my friend Michele’s birthday with her. After kind of sleeping in on Friday - and maybe I watched She’s The Man while getting ready – I’ve got some serious studying to do :) Michele picked me up and we went shopping. And how is it that we went shopping for HER birthday, and I was the only one who bought anything? I realize I have a problem – a red flag even – but how can you say no to the Nordstrom shoe department. I couldn’t – which is why I have two new pairs of shoes to prove it :)

Michele didn’t have new shoes to take crazy pictures with, so she is showing off her adorable cupcake holder. That’s right – there is a Tupperware container in the shape of a cupcake to keep it from getting smooched. Adorable! And, it works – it made it all the way from Buttercup in NYC to DC perfectly.

On Saturday, Kelli, Michelle (Kelli’s friend Michelle, not the bday girl Michele) and I went to the pool. Shocker I know. Unfortunately it was kind of overcast so basically Kelli and I just complained the whole time about how we shouldn’t have put sunscreen on :) It was a blast regardless! I honestly can’t remember the last time I was at a pool (probably last 4th of July in DC).

Saturday night we met up with Michele, KC and Bryndee and had dinner in Georgetown. It was the perfect weather for sitting and eating outside. And we had the perfect table for people watching!

Sunday Michelle and I decided we needed to match our church outfits (unbeknownst to each other). I still claim that I packed before I left NYC, so there was nothing I could do about it :)

All in all, a great weekend in DC with Kelli. Only 8 more days until I see her in Hilton Head!

Such a fun weekend. I love your new shoes! The real question is, what are you doing to prepare for "Scene It-She's the Man Style" You know you must win, right?!

I think you are totally justified in purchasing your Nordstrom shoes. They are so cute!

ok and that picture that we took after dinner... you are looking tanned, almost more tanned than me, which is 100% not permissible...

How in the HECK can I get my hands on one of those adoreable cupcakes holders!? It's not even a want...it's a NEED! :) My family thinks I've got a little overboard with the whole cupcake thing. I'm on a quest and therefore have sent my whole family into quest-mode to find viable cupcakes somewhere...anywhere in Texas. FYI...we are not having success! :(
