Project Runway

Growing up I remember my Mom doing a lot of sewing. She made us dresses (matching usually), curtains, blankets and more. When I was about 16 I wanted a purse that I couldn't buy - I don't remember if it was too expensive or I just made it up in my head. So I convinced my Mom to teach me how to sew and help me make the purse. It was a reversible tote - denim on one side, red velvet on the other, with leopard print handles. I loved it then. Now the thought of it scares me. It's the only thing I've ever sewed in my life. And I use that term loosely because we all know my Mom did most of the work :)

Flash forward to this summer. I bought a skirt because I loved the blue and white seersucker - I didn't love the fit, but it was cheap so I was okay with it. When I came home I asked my mom if we could do a little Project Runway on it. We (again, using the term very loosely) ripped out all of the pleats and turned it into a cute, simple A-line skirt.

Before - pleated, billowing and huge

After - cute, simple A-line

I love it.

Oh and my parents don't have Bravo . . . I don't want to talk about it.

I didn't know the skirt had that kind of potential. Beautiful. I don't get Bravo either. But my next door neighbor does...

I love, love the skirt and how do you live without Bravo? I was forced to live without it in the Middle East and it was painful at moments.

I'm sorry, our parents have every cable channel known to man, EXCEPT Bravo! Well, I suppose you should have to suffer a little for living at home for 2 months :)

What?!? No Bravo? How are you surviving? Good thing you are moving to Provo soon. When you search for apartments, that should be one of your top questions."Do you have Bravo?" You will have to do some catching up on this season's PR. Is that the skirt you bought while we were in SLC? It looks FABULOUS! I love what you have done. Way to "make it work!"
