Sassy Red Velvet

The lovely KC brought some cupcakes over the other night and now I can't get them out of my head. There are cupcakes in every bakery, restaurant and deli in the city. Tourists flock to Magnolia's. There is a Buttercup (the Magnolia spin-off) just down the street from my apartment. But thanks to KC I have discovered an even better bakery - Sugar Sweet Sunshine. (thankfully it's on the LES so I won't have to resist stopping by every single day)

It's been three days, and all I want to do is eat more Sassy Red Velvet Cupcakes! Karen, Holly and I downed a Sexy Red Velvet, Sassy Red Velvet, Pistachio and Pumpkin cupcake. I loved them all. But the Sassy Red Velvet had a chocolate almond buttercream that I can't stop thinking about. It was divine. One of the reasons I like red velvet cake is the cream cheese frosting, but this chocolate almond was perfect. Delicious.

My mouth is watering. You know how much I love cupcakes, how much I crave cupcakes, and how much I miss NYC-especially for the cupcakes! This new find is so on my list the next time I come for a visit! :)

I'm so glad you liked them as much as I did. I'm a little on the obsessed side... ooh, those pumpkin cupcakes... divine...
