A New Yorker

I love the city. It pains me to think about leaving - even if it's just for a short time. I just don't know if I could do it. They say there are two types of people that move to New York City.
1. The people who come for a job, work their tails off and leave three years later with a great resume
2. The people who come for a job, fall in love and can never imagine living in suburbia again
I definitely fall into #2.

So when I am walking down the street and I hear tourists bashing my city I am tempted to turn around and yell at them. So please future tourists, just because you don't like all the people or the trash or the noise or whatever doesn't mean someone else doesn't. You are entitled to your opinion, and I know the city isn't for everyone - trust me, I've had plenty of friends come and go. Over the past few years I've noticed how I've started picking up "New Yorker" habits.

Right now we are in full Spring Break tourist mode, which means there are groups of 15+ teenagers walking around together in their cheerleading sweats and band jackets. Try getting around a group that large that doesn't know where they are going. Ugh. Yesterday I was walking down Fifth Ave on the way to the gym. There was a group of tourist teenagers. They had no idea where they were, where they were going or who they should have been following. A group of boys literally ran right into me. They kept walking and gave a half hearted, "I'm sorry." As I was walking away I noticed I was thinking (I'm not quite sure if I actually mumbled it under by breath or not), "Yeah, you should be!" haha! I was instantly laughing at myself. Seriously, "yeah, you should be!" Love it.

So I'm assuming I'm falling in category 1? In my heart, I don't belong there...

I am so jealous that you live in New York. Sean and I thought about transferring to Brooklyn, but the weather keeps me in Los Angeles!
