Fun, Fun, Fun

Saturday was another great day at the beautiful Sandy Hook. The weather was GORGEOUS!! Caroline and I took the 8 a.m. ferry out and stayed until 5 p.m. It was the perfect Saturday. Sun, sand, water . . . it really doesn't take a lot to make me happy :)

This is what I love about Sandy Hook: the city skyline out over the water, a quaint lighthouse in the background, clean sand . . . just beautiful.

When we got back to the city we were STARVING! After debating between Pinkberry and the Shake Shack, my stomachs need for real food won, and we headed to the Shake Shack. Of course when we got there the line was forever and a day long - of course, it was a beautiful Saturday afternoon - why we thought it would be any different is beyond me. When we got to the back of the line I decided I just couldn't do it. I needed food, and it needed it NOW. The Shake Shack has a "B" line where you can get drinks and shakes, but no food. We decided to just go get a shake and then we could get food someplace else. Well, while we are in line we decide to see if we could beat the system. (Me, never!) Well, there were three cash registers. The far left was for the B line, and then the middle and far right were for the regular line. I knew if the timing was right I could slip up to the middle cash register and place a food order :) But, the timing had to be perfect - and the people behind me couldn't notice :) Well, miracle of all miracles, all three people in line finished at the same time! Caroline stepped up to the B line and placed our shake orders, and I stepped up to the middle register and ordered our food. The day just kept getting better! So Caroline and I enjoyed our burgers, fries and shake - with only about 20 minutes of waiting. Priceless :)
