So, uh, you play the beautiful game... bros... brothers... brethren?

I have an affinity for tween movies. I don’t know what it is about them, but I love them. I’m not a tween; in fact, when I was a tween the term “tween” hadn’t even been coined yet, but the result is still the same – I’m a sucker for silly, girly movies.

I think it all started on spring day in Utah when my friend Lauren and I decided to go to The Gateway in Salt Lake for CPK (California Pizza Kitchen) and a movie. We ended up seeing The Lizzie McGuire Movie. Neither of us had ever seen an episode of the Disney Channel show, but never the less we found ourselves loving it (In fact, I’ll admit that we went to Wal-Mart that night and bought the soundtrack!). Ever since my sisters and friends haven’t stopped teasing me about it :)

This past weekend was filled with tween movies. There wasn’t a whole lot going on Friday night so Karen, Rachael and I decided we’d go see the movie Nancy Drew. We were in a theatre full of little girls, a few random older women here and there, and believe it or not we even saw one twenty-somethings couple. The movie was absolutely adorable. I kept expecting it to get scary, and then I had to remind myself that it was a little kids movie. But, all and all, very cute.

Then on Saturday, after a rough day of lying out on our roof, Rachael came over and we watched the classic She’s The Man. She’s The Man became a classic in my book the moment I saw it. In fact, I’m pretty sure I saw it twice in the theatre, and I can’t even begin to count how many times since. Words can’t do it justice, so basically, if you haven’t seen it – do!

And if you need another reason, look no further - Channing Tatum. :)

Oh, and while watching She’s the Man, both Karen and I were teaching at church the next day so we made some chocolate chip cookies for a class treat. I made about 100 cookies! And Karen almost made as many. Needless to say, our kitchen was full of cookies :)

Ok, I distinctly remember watching 'She's the Man' for the first time at your house... and being the ONLY one laughing raucously?

"Girls with asses like mine do not talk to boys with faces like yours."

HA! I may need a second viewing sometime...

There is nothing wrong with Tween movies. I not only own She's the Man, but I watch it often. You talking about going to TWeen movies on a Friday night, makes me miss NYC and espeically you girls! I want to see Nancy Drew...it looks great. I had to make a deal with my friend that I would go see Surfs Up with her if she would see Nancy Drew with me. Wish I could have been there to have a Tween weekend! I firmly believe it is those types of weekends that keep us all young! :)
