Yesterday, I even found myself thinking things I would have never expected. As I was going to work, I started my normal commute. I left my apartment and walked to the subway. At the subway station there are always a couple of newspaper guys. The guy who sells the Times, Post, Daily News, etc. started to recognize me a few months ago and now always makes a point to say hi when he sees me (despite the fact that I’ve never actually purchased a newspaper from him). Yesterday he saw me coming and had a big grin on his face. He said hi and asked me where I’d been. That’s right the man that I have never spoken anything but hi to and have never actually purchased anything from, who doesn’t know my name and I don’t know his, noticed he hadn’t seen me all last week and asked me where I’d been. I just love these little quirks about people in the city! After I turn the corner and pass newspaper guy #1, I run into newspaper guy #2. This is the guy that passes out the free AM New York that I take in the morning. He always makes sure he can hand me a newspaper despite all the people around walking in different directions. He always smiles and tells me to have a good day. These little things in my morning commute always make me smile and start my day of right. When I walked down the stair in the subway yesterday I found myself still smiling and thinking it was good to be back. “Good to be back!?” Seriously, I was thinking it was good to be back on the humid, muggy subway platform.

Weird I know, but I love it. It's good to be home.

Yea! You are back. I actually miss Manhattan, but mostly the people there. I can't wait for you to post pictures of the cruise. I want to hear all about it! Miss you!
Oh yes, I have days like that too! For example, I loved Montreal but I can't begin to describe my excitement to come back to Manhattan and show my family a 'real' city. :)
The city just gets in your system and you can't get it out! I miss NYC every day and when people say bad things about it, I just want to "Pimp Slap" them...a little something I learned on the streets of NY! That was my lame try at humor!:)
