Last night I ran to get some dinner and when I walked in the line was extremely long (thank you U2 concert - that I was able to hear from the comfort of my couch). Naturally, I pulled out my phone to place a phone order instead of standing in line (don't pretend this is not normal behavior - it is just being efficient!). I did it without even thinking; I placed my order and hung up. I didn't think anything of it.
Hours later at home, it hit me. Wait! My phone worked! I picked it up and tried another number. Yup, still working.
When I admitted to Kelli after my phone broke that I secretly just hoped it would start working again so I didn't have to deal with buying a new phone, she laughed at me. Well Kelli, you were wrong! My phone loves me. And I'm being rewarded for being patient and frugal and slightly ridiculous for not just throwing it away at the first sign of weakness (okay maybe the fourth or fifth sign but whatever). I'm so patting myself on the back right now.

YOU STILL NEED A NEW PHONE! Because imagine how upset you would have been if you would have had to (gasp!) leave your apartment to get dinner!
No, no, no. I was actually in the restaurant when I placed the order. I was just able to place my order right then and there instead of standing in line. Then my food was ready immediately - saving me 15 minutes in line. Duh.
"don't pretend this is not normal behavior - it is just being efficient!"
I completely agree. Perfectly normal, smart, efficient behavior.
Smart. I bet the people around you were wishing they had thought of that. And my phone was $15, so I know you have a better phone than me.
I TOTALLY call in when I am already at the restaurant - works like a charm.
