No Shame

I have no problem admitting:

- I DVRed the royal wedding. I watched it. I loved it. I am obsessed with Kate's hair and Pippa's dress. Oh and maybe I watched the Lifetime movie too. See, no shame. Would admitting I also watched the behind the scenes shows be to much :) I remember visiting St. Andrews in Edinburgh in 2002, and hoping for a run-in with the Prince . . . a girl can dream. I've always had a thing for etiquette and protocol (I guess it's the Southern in me), so Royal pomp and circumstance is right up my alley.

Oh the hair! It's a good thing I'm getting mine cut in a few weeks.

- Lauren texted me that Dancing with the Stars was a NKOTBSB night. I might not watch the show, but I had to DVR it. Of course I loved it. And my ipod has been on BSB ever since. There is nothing quite like driving while busting out to I Want It That Way, Everybody, and Get Another Boyfriend.

- Speaking of driving, it's probably a good thing I don't have a convertible. Spring has FINALLY arrived, and I would just jump in the car and drive and drive. Seeing how much gas is, it's probably a good idea I only rolled down the windows and ran my Saturday errands. But it's beautiful spring days that make me wish I 1) had a convertible and 2) lived in Southern California.

- I saw Something Borrowed with Kathy, Elisa and Linda Friday. It was great to laugh and catch-up. And then we laughed at our ability to recognize actors from ABC Family movies or old TV shows. As soon as the character Marcus showed up I turned to Elisa and said, "How do I know that guy?!" and then realized he was Van in Reba. Reba, a show I never really watched, but it is a classic Brooks "there is nothing on but we're flipping channels and landed on this" show.

Did Ginnifer Goodwin's bangs in the movie bother anyone else?

- Sometimes after watching a movie that takes place in NYC, I think I'm going to walk out of the dark theatre onto Broadway and 68th St and walk home to PHA. I know it's been three years and that it is just wishful thinking, but it makes me sad when I walk out to suburbia. I miss it.

- I've started buying fresh cut flowers every time I go to the grocery store. I love spring. I love flowers. I love having them on my table. And they smell fantastic. Tulips. Peonies. Ranunculus. Daisies. And my most recent purchase - Hot Princess Roses. It's a good thing I don't go to the grocery store that often! Frivolous, yes. But I like it. Future boyfriends take note.

- I was sceptical about this shellac nail polish I kept hearing about. I'm all for long lasting manicures, but I don't want my nails to look thick and fake like acrylics. Plus all of the salons I've been to have the absolute worst color shellac/gel selection, which is a deal breaker for me. Sure having 500 different polish colors is a bit extreme, but only 20 is just not enough :) I figure if I was ever going to try it, the wedding was the perfect time. 10 days later, my nails still look good and I'm still loving it. I did have to go to a more "trendy" salon to find nice colors - which I won't lie it was a little weird having my nails done by a 20-something white girl. And call me weird (because yes I know I'm out of control in the weekly manicure department) but having just one color for 2+ weeks is quite the commitment - but walking out of the salon with flawless, no fear of smudging nails was nice. I don't think I'll do it all the time, but it's a nice option.

I need to see more pictures from the first Brooks wedding! Post them! :)

Em, I am so glad someone else understands the need to change polish color often!

Yes, yes. More to come. Shockingly no one took pictures, so we're having to wait for the photographer.

I still have the giant face of Prince William's head that you sent me when you lived in London. Guess it's all over now.

I think there is nothing wrong with watching the royal wedding. I did and I loved every minute of it. I even had my niece over and we had a tea party and watched the royal wedding...it was her 1st time and my 2nd time.
I also watch a movie taking place in NYC and long for those days. I think once it gets in your blood, it never leaves you.

I like shellac - I've done it several times. I've never done artificial nails - but shellac feels just like regular polish. It's awesome.

I don't know if I could ever have a convertible. My hair would be a rat's nest. :)
