Tough Day at the Office

One of my clients is an organic chocolate company, and this week I had a really tough assignment. I had to serve as a judge for a chocolate recipe contest. That's right, I was paid to gorge myself on chocolate treats all afternoon. Rough, I know. Actually, this is the third contest I've judged for various clients so I know the dangers of not pacing myself - and as a chocoholic I was worried the recipes would be so good I'd devour the whole serving. We had 25 recipes all incorporating chocolate with ingredients ranging from jalapeno peppers to shrimp to raspberries and pears.

There were two recipes I absolutely loved, and one I'd love to take in the kitchen to revise and make even better. I can't give too much away just yet - but trust me I'll post my favorite winning recipes later.

It was a fun, delicious afternoon.

Here are some of the leftovers we shared with the rest of the office - try imagining this times ten and that is what our judging table looked like.

You get paid to eat chocolate? That sounds like something that a 4th grader would make up when talking about their dream job. :)
