Danger - Magnolia on 69th

I got this little joy of an email this morning. I knew Magnolia was opening near Lincoln Center soon, but I didn't know it was this week! Danger. Not only do I have to resist the sugar temptation (Oh that Banana Pudding!), but I also have to pass it as I walk to and from church every week :) Move over Buttercup.

Get Baked

we're going to new york? we just have to go to that place in the village where carrie eats those cute cupcakes. what's it called again? oh right. magnolia bakery.

wait, what? there's a line that stretches all the way down the block and it's become a tourist stop? we can't have people thinking we're only in town to see spamalot. we need to them to think we're as uber-hip as those who live near the bleecker street sweet stop. but we can't resist the thought of those dense cakes topped with fluffy, sugary goodness. the colored sprinkle ones will probably be our fave. we hear the banana pudding made with nilla wafers and banana cream is just so addicting, too. we only have an hour between lunch and our matinee midtown. what's a sweet-toothed gal to do? oh snaps. magnolia is opening an uptown location this weekend. crisis adverted.

just don't tell our trainer we're cheating on our new year's resolution.

I've tried the cupcakes and they are pretty good. Dare I say...the frosting is not my favorite, but still I love cupcakes so I won't pass one up if offered. I have never tried the banana pudding...although I love banana pudding from other places. Next time I am in town I will for go Pinkberry once to try Magnolia's banana pudding.
