My Confession

I am addicted. Completely addicted. They say the first step is admitting. And I am admitting to you that I am powerless over . . . shoes.

Exhibit A: While packing for a seven day trip I pulled out eight pairs of shoes to bring. Now in my defense one pair were my running shoes and another were my church shoes, but still I realize that is more shoes than days.
Exhibit B: The family went outlet mall shopping at the beach and Shannan found some shoes she liked. She couldn't find a pair in her size so I was helping her look through the boxes. While trying to help her I found a pair in my size, so naturally I tried them on. Shannan walked out empty handed. I bought the shoes.
Exhibit C: That pair was pair 1 of 2 I would buy that shopping trip.
Exhibit D: I went to the mall today with my Mom and Caisa to look at bedding. I walked out with a pair of shoes. (Hey, they were on sale! Uber, uber sale!)
Exhibit E: That is three pairs of shoes I have purchased in the past three weeks.
Exhibit F: I am unable to walk in a store without checking out their shoe department. (Hence my purchase today.)
Exhibit G: Most of my worldly possessions are in boxes at my little sister's apartment in Utah, and I just have my summer clothes here in Georgia. I just counted and that includes 22 pairs of shoes (excluding the three pairs I have purchased since being home.)
Exhibit H: That number scares me because I know how many pairs of shoes I shipped out to Utah. I really, really can't let myself count them all when I put them in my new closet in Utah.
Exhibit I: Yes, I have checked out your shoes. Yes, I have judged you because of them. Yes, I know that's wrong.
Exhibit J: Part of my Provo pro/con list:
Con: Leaving all of the fabulous shopping in New York
Pro: Nordstrom
Exhibit K: I've reached "K". This is a problem. I think that is enough proof.

But I love this addition! And I don't feel the need to stop. I just need a really, really big closet.
