Yet when we go to the lake we willingly submit ourselves to being tossed about to and fro behind a boat. Not only do we enjoy this, we encourage Dad to drive faster, take sharper turns and tempt him to throw us as high in the air as possible on wakes. Yup, we are masochists. In fact today when I was driving home my neck hurt so badly when I turned to the right that I tried not to change lanes. But so worth it!
At the end of the day Saturday Shannan and I were both on the two-man tube, I was dying and couldn’t hold on much longer when Dad took a really sharp turn that I knew would be the end of me. I was screaming at Shannan to let go, but she was determined to stay on just to spite me. As I was falling off I went down screaming, “I’m gone. I’m gone. I’m so gooonnneee.” Shannan declared that the most dramatic tubing exit of the weekend :)
We don’t have TV, internet or cell reception at the cabin, and the first night we all just happened to be at the very end of our books and wanting to finish. It was quite a nerdy, unusual picture for our family.
We aren't a big games family - I think too many games ended in blood or tears when we were growing up so Mom and Dad put a stop to that - but we always play charades when we are at the lake. Being the competitive family that we are, we spend a lot of time picking the movies to make sure that there is no way the other team and act out the words. It's quite comical.
Friday Sam let out a big scream when she remembered that the little, little town of Clayton has a DQ. So we made nightly visits so Sam could get her Thin Mint Blizzard.
And sparklers of course! Sam kept saying, "On Call!" wanting to sparkler fight. Got to love that kid :)
Despite our sore bodies, bumps and bruises we had a blast! Tube wars, catching the wake just right for serious air and staying on - and then falling off :) - King of the Raft, charades, sparklers . . . good times, good times at the lake.

I swear, everytime I look at your blog your family is going on another amazing vacation. You make me want to visit Georgia. I've never been. Anyways, I can just picture your dramatic exit from the tube. It made me laugh.
I miss tubing! And Michelle said that sam (that's what she named her tube burn from memorial day) is finally getting better! :) I'm glad you are still sore!
