I've been swooning for Maroon 5 for a long time. We danced to their first CD, Songs About Jane, in the White House kitchen, and then mourned when we found out they they cancelled opening for a John Mayer concert because they had been invited to be the musical guests on Saturday Night Live. They finally released their second album and on Wednesday I finally saw them in concert. Karen, Jen, Ann Marie and I went to Madison Square Garden for Maroon 5's first concert in the venue. And Kanye West made a surprise guest appearance with a freestyle rap of the new song "Nothing Lasts Forever" - just another reason NYC is so great.
I love going to concerts with KC. At one point in the concert after we were both mesmerized with Adam's crisp high tenor vocals, chiseled good looks and buff physique and screamed. I'm talking hands around the mouth, as loud as we could megaphone. Then we both turned to each other and realized that we had both just completely swooned over Adam at exactly the same time. It was classic.
A great Wednesday night.
